Why store excess solar? Think of solar like rain falling on your roof.

A Simple Battery Storage Explanation

Infographic comparing excess solar energy to growing extra food, selling it cheaply and later buying it back at a higher price. It shows how a battery can instead store surplus solar energy for use later, helping a business keep more of the value it generates.

If you’re using the water as it falls, great. But once you have more than you need, you have a choice: let it run away for very little value, or store it in a tank and use it later when you’d otherwise be paying for mains water.

A battery works in much the same way.

During the day your solar system may generate more electricity than your business needs at that moment. Without storage, that excess energy is often exported to the grid for a relatively low feed-in value.

With a battery, some of that energy can be kept onsite and used later, during the evening peak, when demand is higher, or when electricity from the grid is more expensive.

That’s why we think energy should be treated more like an asset.

"The aim isn’t simply to generate more. It’s to keep more of the value you already produce. Don’t waste your energy - or your money."
